Home Transitions

I assist individuals and families with the difficult and stressful tasks involved when dealing with home transitions.

Downsizing, emigration, dealing with a loved one’s estate and the like, all come with their own set of challenges and emotions which often become extremely daunting.

I offer my assistance by taking on certain tasks that will help make these transitions smoother for yourself and your loved ones, thus affording you more time to spend on other aspects of the transition.

Most importantly, all my interactions will be dealt with in an extremely respectful, caring, compassionate and efficient manner with tailor made quotations, structured to suit individual needs and budgets.

Our services include:

  • Inventory documentation and family liaison for downsizing, estate and deceased estate purposes.
  • Sorting, organising and packing of items in the home.
  • Arranging removal, donations and disposal of unwanted goods.
  • Assistance in selling items of value.
  • Transport and transitional storage management.
  • Cleaning after clearing out the home.
  • Any additional services as they may arise.

Fee Structure

Everyone’s situation and circumstances are different and therefore it is essential for me to make an appointment with you to assess your home and the scale of work involved.  I offer a 20 minute assessment of the home to ensure an accurate evaluation of the scale of work is made. 

There are 3 different tiers in my pricing structure as follows:

TIER ONE – BASIC LABOUR SERVICE

I offer basic assistance for sorting, packing and clearing at hourly rates as follows:

R350 per hour for myself

R150 per hour per helper

Client covers the costs of:

  • Transporting goods to storage, dumpsites and donation points
  • Packing materials
  • Truck and trailer hire
  • Any other costs that may arise

 

TIER TWO – STANDARD SERVICE

This options includes:

  • Sorting and packing of household items
  • Removing unwanted items
  • Basic clean after clearing the home

 

Tiny home – Studio / One bedroom will be R3 000 – R5 000

Small home – Two bedrooms will be R5 000 – R9 000

Medium Home – 3 bedrooms will be R9 000 – R15 000

Large Home – 4 bedrooms+  will be R15 000 – R20 000+

Client covers the costs of:

  • Truck and trailer hire
  • Packing materials
  • Any other costs as they may arise

 

TIER THREE – COMPLETE HOME TRANSITION MANAGEMENT 

This option includes:

  • Full house sort
  • Packing & clearing
  • Selling valuable items
  • Arranging charity donations
  • Multiple dump, storage and donation runs
  • HomeCleaning coordination
  • Preparing house for sale

 

Client covers the costs of:

  • Truck and trailer hire
  • Packing materials
  • Contractor services
  • Any other costs that may arise

 

Another service that I offer for all three of the above tiers, is that if there are any items that I am able to sell, I am willing to offset these against part of the costs.
